Specialty: Women’s Health & Chronic Pelvic Pain in Rochester, NY
Women and those assigned female at birth (including trans men, non-binary and gender non-conforming individuals) face distinct, complex physical and psychological challenges across their lifespan—yet specialized mental health support in this area remains critically rare. Very few mental health clinicians are trained to navigate the interplay between physical and psychological factors in female health, leaving many feeling dismissed or struggling in isolation.
At Rezenity Health, emotional well-being and physical health are treated as deeply intertwined. We offer expert, compassionate care tailored to the unique physical, emotional, and relational realities of women's health.

Understanding the Scope of Women’s Health Challenges
-
Chronic Pelvic Pain: Pelvic pain will impact approximately 25% (1 in 4) of women in their lifetime. Specialized therapy helps retrain how the central nervous system processes pain signals, breaking the fear-avoidance cycle that often amplifies physical discomfort. Through evidence-based mind-body techniques, clients learn actionable tools to dial down pain sensitivity and regain active control over their daily lives.
-
Pain with Sexual Activity: Pain during intimacy is common yet highly under-reported—nearly one-third of women experiencing sexual pain never seek help. Our clinicians provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental space to reduce the anxiety and tension tied to painful intimacy, and work to restore bodily safety, comfort, and connection.
-
Childbearing & Birth Trauma: Pregnancy and childbirth can involve significant physical and emotional trauma, as well as physiological shifts that profoundly affect daily functioning and quality of life. We provide evidence-based support to process traumatic birth experiences, reduce perinatal distress, and foster emotional healing.
-
Perimenopause & Menopause: While these transitions impact all women, they are often misdiagnosed and misunderstood. In addition to physical symptoms such as hot flashes, hormonal shifts frequently result in significant changes to mood, stress resilience, sexual functioning, and overall quality of life. Working with clinicians educated on perimenopause and menopause provides expert validation and targeted, evidence-based strategies to help you restore emotional resilience, address changes in intimacy, and protect your overall well-being through this life transition.
-
Endometriosis, PCOS, and fertility challenges: These conditions present distinct coping challenges, particularly because discussion of symptoms carries social taboos that often foster isolation, shame, and secrecy. Our clinicians can help guide you through the unique difficulties of arbitrary cultural norms, medical advocacy, and anxiety/grief surrounding fertility.
-
Impact on Relationships & Mental Health: Navigating health conditions can place unique strain on body image, personal identity, intimate partnerships, and overall emotional well-being. Working with clinicians who “get it” makes all the difference.

Client Testimonials
The pelvic pain support group simultaneously provided me with a space to share my experiences with pain and gain actionable tools to support my well-being, even amidst a flare-up. Group sessions can be intimidating, but the group leader and the other professionals who joined made me feel welcomed and safe to be vulnerable.
Group support with other women experiencing pelvic pain has been extremely helpful.
Pelvic pain can be extremely isolating and shameful. Going to the group sessions made me feel less alone and helped me create a different relationship with my pain. I am now much more aware of when I am experiencing a flare-up and feel more empowered to navigate these moments. Group sessions did not make my pain suddenly disappear, but it has certainly made me feel more confident that I can navigate it and protect my well-being.
